Our Recommended Couple Travel Essentials
So you’re planning to travel as a couple? Great! Now, let’s make your trip as easy, and stress-free as possible…
We’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot together and whilst doing so, we’ve created a list of a few travel essentials that make our trips easier, less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone.
Whether you’re long-term backpacking as a couple, or just heading away for a luxurious weekend break, these travel essentials will help your trip run smoothly and keep everyone happy.
Travel Adapters
Absolutely vital, and one of the first things in our bag – a good travel adapter. However, there’s nothing worse than having a draw full of adapters – one for the US, one for Europe, and one for the UK… it’s expensive and takes up way too much room.
That’s why we’ll always pack a worldwide universal travel adapter.
Universal Travel Adapter
This universal travel adapter is fantastic!
It can be used in 150+ countries/ areas, is super compact and really reasonably priced and features multiple inputs, so you won’t be fighting over who’s phone is plugged in.
Travel Backpacks
Whether you’re travelling around Asia for 6 months, or just going for a long weekend in Europe, you’ll want a good backpack. Sure, you can get a roller case, but wheeling around bumpy cobbled streets, or lugging bags upstairs can be tiresome – that’s why a good backpack can make life much easier.
You’re going to want a quality, comfortable and spacious one though.
We’ve both used Osprey backpacks for a while now – they’re excellent. We’d also always recommend getting one that opens lengthways. This way, you don’t need to try and reach all the way down from the top to the bottom when you need to get something out.
Osprey Farpoint
The Osprey Farpoint is a great backpack.
It’s big enough to fit everything you need and comes with a removable day bag, which is handy for day trips and hand luggage!
What’s more, it’s super comfortable and easy to get around. The handles/straps can also be zipped away for protection on flights.
Packing Cubes
Now, we absolutely guarantee that packing cubes will make life so much easier!
There’s nothing worse than needing something from your bag, but having no idea where it is. You’re in the middle of the airport, pulling out items one by one until you find what you’re looking for – a nightmare.
Not with packing cubes though. It’s a great way to have all your stuff organised perfectly. Have your underwear all together, electrics in one pouch, t-shirts neatly folded and well-organised…
Travel Packing Cubes/ Travel Organisers
These organisers are perfect for a trip of any size.
With multiple packing sizes and shapes, it’s the perfect way to organise all of your belongings neatly.
They’re high quality, really reasonably priced and available in a range of colours.
Travel Iron
Are you fed up with neatly packing freshly ironed clothes only to unpack them all crumpled? That’s where a travel iron comes in handy.
It’s true that a lot of hotels and hostels will have irons, but unfortunately, that’s not guaranteed.
The Quilted Bear Mini Iron
The Quilted Bear mini iron is the perfect travel iron you need to ensure you’re always looking fresh!
Measuring just 130mm x 90mm x 75mm and featuring a hard travel case, you’ll have no trouble fitting it in your bag!
Travel Speaker
A good portable travel speaker is essential for us.
Whether we’re relaxing by the pool, chilling at the beach, or working from our hotel room/ apartment, having background music is a must!
Now, it totally depends on your budget here and how serious you are about the sound quality. With a huge amount of products in this field ranging from top-of-the-line Bose speakers to smaller cheaper speakers.
Sony SRS-XB13
Personally, we love our Sony speaker.
The SRS-XB13 is perfect for travelling, it’s lightweight, wireless, compact, waterproof and packs a serious punch.
We’re pretty picky about sound quality, so this is a great speaker for all you music lovers out there.
These are all of our recommendations for couple travel essentials that we absolutely couldn’t live without. For more couples travel tips check out the rest of our blog!
